Band 7+: Overpopulation of urban areas has led to numerous problems. Identify two serious ones and suggest ways that the government and individuals can tackle these problems.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The increasing population in urban areas has resulted in a myriad of challenges in cities around the world. This essay will discuss the significant issues caused by overpopulation in urban fields and provide recommendations to how governments and individuals can address these problems effectively.

To begin with, one of the main problems of overpopulation is the inadequacy in transportation systems as it leads to overcrowding. An increase in the number of individuals who inhabit in urban spaces means that demand for public transportation rises, which leads to congestion. Secondly, the overpopulation of urban fields causes environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, and habitat destruction. The rapid expansion of cities often brings about the destruction of natural habitats, resulting in loss of biodiversity and disruption of ecosystems. As a result, a wide variety of living organisms, including animals and plants, are at risk.

To tackle these challenges, first, governments can invest in efficient public transportation system with easy access such as metro networks and buses. Individuals can also play a crucial role in mitigating these problems by adopting sustainable transportation methods. People can be encouraged to utilize alternative modes of transportation, such as cycling and walking. Consequently, this approach does not only reduce traffic jams but also promotes a healthier and more habitable urban environment. Furthermore, governments and individuals can boost viable urban planning and development which creates green spaces within in the cities and build renewable energy sources.

In conclusion, the overpopulation of urban areas has caused many transportation problems like overcrowding as well as increasing environmental degradation. Governments and individuals can collaborate to decrease these problems by adopting sustainable practices and green protection. I firmly believe that by working together, we can contribute to creating more livable and stronger urban environment for current and future generations.
