In recent years, it has become increasingly common for individuals to allocate less time to sleep than they did in the past. The reason for this trend is that individuals are becoming more ambitious, and it may cause several problems in many aspects of people’s lives.
The main cause of this trend is that many individuals try to get the best and newest things, such as modern cars and houses, for themselves and their families. They may think these things play a crucial role in gaining respect and providing happiness in their lives. Thus, these goals urge them to work more and in two or three companies at the same time. This is why many people sleep late at night and wake up early in the morning.
This development can have adverse effects on individuals’ social lives, health, and productivity. When they work for more time, people are likely to spend less time socializing with their families and friends, leading to shallow relationships with others. In terms of their health, continuously sleeping for a few hours makes citizens’ immune systems much weaker, which means that they tend to get serious diseases, such as cardiovascular and mental health issues. People also show low efficacy at work because of a sense of tiredness when they experience insufficient sleep. For example, employees may spend 4 hours doing a task that they did in 2 hours in the past.
In conclusion, this trend stems from people seeking improved quality of life, but it will create several issues if they do not stop themselves from doing so.
