Band 6+: Prison is the common way in most countries to solve the problem of crime. However, a more effective solution is to provide people with a better education. Agree or disagree.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, it is increasingly common to see the prison as a way to decrease the rate of crime, but providing education would be a more effective solution. I support the second view depending on several compelling reasons.

Undeniably, avoiding the use of prison to punish offenders can be attributed to two reasons with peer pressure being the most prominent reason. First of all, some lawbreakers continue doing crimes after gaining freedom from prison because, in prison, it will be even worse instead of getting better, as they are always surrounded by people like them who are used to making money by committing crimes, thereby influencing them negatively from both physical and mental sides, increasing the likelihood to learn the other types of the crime from their fellow inmate. Moreover, after being released from prison, many people often show their hate towards them, resulting in a sense of social isolation and hatred towards people.

On the other hand, there are several reasons why using education is effective. Firstly, naturally, the lack of knowledge and poor family conditions often lead to engaging in criminal activity, so providing them with education and academic support can work better. By doing so, they not only can address the problem of crime but also manage to change offenders’ lives and increase the number of educated people, and it has a profound impact on their lives. Additionally. Most of the offenders can encounter difficulty in finding certain jobs due to the unwillingness of people to accept them. By inspiring them to study, they can realize the importance of education. As a result, they become more flexible and adaptable, especially when they can feel comfortable around people, forgetting about their unfavorable memories.

In conclusion, education is more practical than prison, when it comes to mitigating the issue of crime
