It may seem that the usage of public transportation is a good choice for having a trip within a city, especially the subway, which is considered the most comfortable system. I agree with this statement and I will explain my opinion in this essay.
Firstly, public transportation decreases the traffic level of roads. There is an obvious correlation between the comfort level of the trip and the time spent in a road. The average bus has a size of two or three cars, however, the capacity of the bus is larger. Thus more people will cover less road space, so the vehicles will spend less time standing in traffic jams. Moreover, metro system reduce time for both owners of cars and citizens, who prefers public transportation. The great example of it is Moscow Metro. According to the city’s mayor, the time spent in traffic jam during rush hours has dropped twice.
Secondly, the public transportation system is developed day by day compared to private transportation sector. Many beneficial features are deployed into buses and trains. For instance, there are USB sockets for mobile phones placed near to each seat in the carriages of Moscow subway. Also, during the long travel from the south of city to the north, person may power his gadgets, read city’s news from the television board, scroll social media or websites using metro Wi-Fi. On the whole, travel by metro is a relaxing journey in comparison to trip by a car.
In conclusion, the public transportation becomes more popular among citizens due to rising level of convenience. I cannot deny the daily improvement of local systems and their positive impact on the traffic jams.
