Studies show that we are witnessing a severe decline in the number of animals, with their population having halved over the last fifty years. With this situation worsening every day, we need to find suitable solutions to help protect the wildlife. This essay will look at the principal problem of habitat destruction, which enabled that reduction. But, it will also discuss the solutions we can put in place to remedy it, such as reducing human expansion or promoting preservation initiatives.
A rising problem animals face is the destruction of their habitat. With this, comes the problem of readjustment. This can be displayed in the form of a lack of preys (which are also affected), or through inadequate shelter, which causes them to die due to harsh weather conditions. This problem arose because of the necessity for human crops and the act of deforestation. For instance, if we needed to print this essay, paper would have to be used. But to create this paper, a tree has to be taken down. A tree which was supposedly located in the amazon forest, where a vast wildlife once lived, thus destroying their habitats; henceforth leaving them without a survival “compass” to retrieve food, and help teach their offspring to hunt and survive which ultimately leads them to their death.
However, we can prevent such a thing from happening by preventing the destruction of their habitats. This can be done by the help of restorative measures. In the case of deforestation, planting back trees after the previous ones were cut can help retrieve the old habitat. Although this is an artificial measure, it is a good way to achieve protection for the wildlife as it prevents the animals to witness significant change to their habitat. By helping them get back to their old ways, animals will perish due to environmental reasons, hence decreasing the rate of death in wildlife.
To conclude, I believe that the protection of wildlife can be sustained through restorative measures, wherein the problems originating from human needs are not put to an end, but rather modified to add preservation processes. This will help avoid the killing of wildlife due to habitat issues.
