Some people argue that sales companies should hire people who are passionate about money, as it is believed that this type of worker is much more energetic than others. While I believe that money is one of the most important factors behind hard work, I disagree; there are many factors that are worth attention when hiring employees for marketing.
On the one hand, communication skills are essential for a salesperson. It is clear that a seller should be able to persuade, listen, and build relationships with customers. As a result, they can sell more products and expand their network of contacts. Moreover, sales employees must have product knowledge. Understanding the product helps the salesperson advise customers better and increase reliability. Therefore, buyers will trust and come back to buy more products. In addition, passion and persistence are also important. Clearly, sales success is not always immediate; it takes tenacity to pursue customers.
On the other hand, money is a major motivator in work. In our materialistic world, finance is highly appreciated, as it equates to power. It offers a better quality of life, opening the door to a much more tranquil life full of enchantment and luxury. Also, individuals who are hungry to attain a considerable amount of money will seek all creative solutions to achieve efficiency and productivity. They will work hard and produce fruitful solutions to improve the company’s revenue.
In conclusion, money is an important factor, but it is not the only factor to measure the dedication of sales staff. Product knowledge and professional ethics are also decisive aspects for a company to have a quality sales team.
