There are a lot of different products on shelves around the world’s various markets. Some of them are healthy, while others are proven to be harmful by scientists. Although I admit that some goods might be harmful, I believe that people themselves should have a choice of what to consume.
Consuming harmful products might be indeed hazardous. A lot of people nowadays tend to rather buy another pack of snacks and some refreshing beverages than have a healthy diet. Although people understand the consequences, they continue to consume them, as they are more accessible and taste much better. However, the consumption of such products in the long run can have detrimental effects on their health. Consuming a bottle of Coca-Cola accompanied by a pack of Lays, for instance, may cause some problems with the consumer’s kidneys and other vital organs if consumed too much in a short period of time.
As mentioned above, the effects emerge only when the consumption is uncontrolled. Everything is a medicine and a poison in the right measures. On average, the majority of “healthy” products might not always be appealing to the appetite of people, while some “harmful” foods and drinks attract by their taste. Thus, people usually seek pleasure in consuming them, knowing the impact on their health. Nonetheless, it does not necessarily mean that these products should be banned from the public as it is the consumer’s choice of what to choose to eat or drink.
In conclusion, it is true that people may suffer the consequences of consuming harmful products. However, it is the consumer’s freedom to choose whatever they want at the end of the day.
