Band 4+: Since the beginning of the 20th century, the number of endangered species has increased significantly and we have witnessed more mass extinctions in this period than in any other period of time.

Over the past century, the quantity of endangered species has experienced a significant growth, which results in an increase of extinction particularly in that period. The main reason for this issue is the steady development of urban areas, including its manufactures, factories and so on. To tackle this problem, it is suggested to preserve natural aerials, by constraining the amount of waste products released by factories.

Shaping a consumerist society has been matched with a growing number of the manufactures that are considered to be the main contributor to carbon footprint. Furthermore, dozens of factories released greenhouse gases, which also means that air becomes more and more polluted and contains less oxygen for living. Besides that, a lot of natural habitats were destroyed for construction of the factories. For example, species which are living in coastal areas, forced to leave their habitats, as factories are going to be built there. thereby,polluted air and lack of appropriate habitat at-risk species gradually rise in numbers.

That’s why, to address this problem, it is essential to reduce the amount of carbon wastes released and promote eco-friendly habits. By setting a certain limit for producers in terms of waste products, the repercussions can be prevented. It has been practised in the USA, there are taxes for released carbon, which can help to maintain a balance between amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in air.
