Band 6+: Some argue that it is the government's responsibility to tackle environmental issues, while others believe individuals should take more responsibility. Discuss both views and give your opinion

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, the question whether the government or individuals should be responsible for environmental issues has sparked considerable debate. Many individuals advocate that government should address the issues, while others argue that engaging the masses would be beneficial. This essay will discuss both perspectives and ultimately share my opinion.

On one hand, considering our environmental tax payments, relevant expertise in the government sector, and the government’s ability to enforce laws, proponents of government engagement argue that government is responsible and can manage environmental issues effectively and efficiently. This indicates that, in this way, public funds are properly used, public well-being is ensured by proper authorities, and more law-abiding citizens are available in a country. For example, if a government imposes high penalties for violations of environmental laws, people will be less likely to commit detrimental acts toward the environment. Additionally, as the authority has the opportunity to reach people personal level, people can be influenced positively with awareness programs regarding environmental issues.

However, on the other hand, supporters of public engagement, advocate that engaging people more in managing environmental issues not only lessens operational costs but also ensures greater efforts and triggers a positive mindset among people, ensuring a safer environment for all. This means that government does not need dedicated funds for managing, that combined efforts from people at every level result in better results, and that people take ownership of responsibilities as they are engaged.

To conclude, I personally believe that a collaborative effort from both the government and common people will be the best way to address environmental issues because government has expertise and enforcement and people have exposure to environment.society will yield better outcomes. Additionally, when people are actively engaged, they are more likely to take ownership of their responsibilities.

In conclusion, I believe that a collaborative approach involving both the government and the public is the most effective way to tackle environmental issues. The government brings expertise and enforcement capabilities, while individuals provide valuable insights from their daily experiences with the environment.
