Band 7+: Some believe education is the responsibility of parents, while others say it is the responsibility of educational institutions. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people say parents are fully responsible for their child’s education. They think learning starts at home and parents should teach their children everything, from basic manners to good habits and even studies. Parents know their kids better than anyone else. They understand their strengths and weaknesses and can give special attention where needed. If parents are involved and help children with homework or talk to them about life lessons, kids feel confident and motivated. Also, children learn values like honesty, respect, and kindness mostly from their family.

On the other hand, many believe schools have the main responsibility. Schools provide professional teachers who know how to teach different subjects clearly and properly. In school, students learn in a structured way with books, exams, and practical activities. Schools also teach important life skills like teamwork, discipline, and time management. Since kids spend many hours in school, they get a chance to interact with other students and learn social skills. Schools also provide equal learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their background.

I think both parents and schools share responsibility for education. Parents lay the foundation by teaching basic things and supporting children at home. Schools build on that foundation with formal education and social development. When parents and teachers work together, children get the best support and encouragement. This teamwork helps children grow into smart, responsible, and confident adults.
