In some parts of the world, celebrities criticize the media for invading their personal life. Some people argue that it is an unavoidable part of being famous. I disagree with this view and believe that their personal lives should be exposed with their permission.
On the one hand, it’s understandable why people think celebrities accept media scrutiny. Public figures earn incomes and gain immense popularity because of constant media exposure. Newspapers, television, and social media help celebrities to promote their talent, work, whether it is in music or sports achievements. As a result, a growing public interest is unavoidable. From this perspective, it can be argued that celebrities benefit from publicity and therefore they cannot reject media attention.
On the other hand, many people, including myself, believe that being a famous does not mean losing the right to privacy. Celebrities are ordinary people with families, emotions, and personal problems, just like anyone else. Excessive media intrusion can cause serious stress, anxiety, and even mental health issues. In particular, some relatives and friends of celebrities suffer from paparazzi harassment who do not choose a public life. Moreover, this phenomenon may lead to dangerous situations such as car accidents caused by photographers chasing celebrities. Therefore, the media should follow ethical standards and respect personal boundaries.
In conclusion, although it can be understandable that openness is an unavoidable part of fame, I believe that celebrities should not be forced to accept unlimited media interference. Privacy is a fundamental human right, therefore it should not be broke.
