Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 8+: Some cities have vehicle-free days when private cars, trucks, and motorcycles are banned from the city center. Public transportation like buses, taxis, and metros are advised. To what extent do you think the advantages of this policy outweigh the disadvantages?

Various regions around the world have regulations to control transportation sectors, such as limiting private vehicles in city centers for certain reasons. In my opinion, these trends can have beneficial impacts on numerous aspects of human life.

The presence of personal vehicles in urban areas has led to negative effects on the environment. As we know, various types of transportation have contributed several disadvantages to the surrounding environment by producing pollution that can potentially damage our nature and contribute to climate change on a massive scale. Additionally, the primary factor behind traffic congestion in many areas, such as capital cities, is the massive increase in the number of vehicles year after year, consequently causing an overpopulation of transportation that the public facilities, particularly the main roads, cannot accommodate properly. Therefore, innovations to address these issues play a crucial role in minimizing the damage.

Meanwhile, limiting private transportation can be an appropriate solution to these problems, and I believe it can lead to great advancements in civilization. This regulation can reduce the total number of vehicles, and it can also restore the air quality in the city by reducing pollution levels. Furthermore, it can create better conditions in various parts of the town, for example, by lowering the level of traffic congestion, allowing people to feel more comfortable using the public transportation provided by the government. Additionally, the level of stress can be reduced because citizens do not have to spend a long time on the streets. Moreover, this policy is a suitable method to be economical, as the budget allocated for transportation can decrease due to the availability of public transportation, which is generally more cost-effective than private transportation.

In conclusion, these regulations can bring significant positive impacts for the community, not only for the environment but also for the basic necessities of the locals, such as health and behavior.
