Many cities have introduced a vehicle-free day in which citizens need to travel by public transportation only and the private vehicles such as cars and motorcycles are banned for the day. I believe that the consequences of introducing this day will be more advantageous because of many reasons and some of them are discussed in the following paragraphs.

Growing pollution has always been one of the major issues of the world. To have a control over this outrageous issue, this policy can be used as a protective barrier for our future, as a break for the environment to heal itself from the harmful gases emitted by vehicles. Furthermore, the trees will have more time to rejuvenate the air. Additionally, the roads will be free from the loud noises of vehicle horns which will eventually reduce the noise pollution.

The elderly people could use this day to walk around the city without any concern for traffic as it is generally observed that older citizens tend to live in a quiet and peaceful place. Moreover, the government can also produce a significant amount of revenue as the citizens will be travelling from public transports and this revenue could be used in developing the city. However, if all the citizens use public transport than it will become crowded and less convenient.

To conclude, vehicle-free day is indeed a good idea for our future as it will be beneficial for the air and citizens will walk more due to the inconvenience of means of transport which will increase their health. But if government can not comprehend the amount of travels than it will be not convenient for the citizens.
