It is true that some nations achieve global success with the building of specialized facilities to train top sportspersons instead of providing sports facilities that are usable for everyone. Although the disadvantages of this can be acknowledged to a certain extent, this essay asserts that such a fact is an advantageous development.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that specialized facilities may have drawbacks to a minor extent. Chief among these is that the cost of them is usually higher than normal facilities. The reason is that they are often developed with enhanced quality which requires more money to buy cutting-edge and advanced gears, and this requirement might certainly come with a more expensive price in order to ensure the selling profit. However, top athletes usually have a lot of money to buy expensive items, so they are capable of affording specialized facilities despite their high prices.
On the other hand, in order to support the merits, I hold the view that the facilities made specially for top athletes can bring benefits that are of greater importance, and one of these beneficial effects is more utilized training. To explain this, we can see that the heart-rate monitor can help measure the heart’s physical status of a sportsperson, thereby helping him or her organize training on different skills of a sport according to that measurement to improve the quality of their training. For example, the heart-rate monitor has helped Cristiano Ronaldo estimate his heart rate, allowing him to know whether he should do heavy football training or not. This advantage helps Ronaldo practice football more effectively, thereby improving his training quality.
In conclusion, the adverse impacts of providing specialized facilities instead of normal sports ones to train top athletes may be of minor importance, but the advantageous ones are far more significant. As such, I believe that this development is more likely a positive development.
