It cannot be denied that international exchange programs have become increasingly popular nowadays. Many people believe that such visits bring significant benefits to teenagers, while others argue that they may cause certain difficulties. I strongly believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Firstly, exchange programs provide students with an excellent opportunity to explore different cultures and communicate with people from other countries. While staying abroad, students learn not only about the history and traditions of the host country but also interact with local people and international peers. As a result, they gain valuable experience and develop important skills such as communication and independence. Moreover, discussing different topics with students from diverse backgrounds can broaden their horizons and make them more aware of global issues.
On the other hand, some teenagers may find it difficult to stay in a foreign country for the first time. Being far from their parents can make them feel lonely and emotionally stressed. This may negatively affect their participation in lessons or activities organised by exchange programs. In addition, culture shock can also make it challenging for some students to adapt quickly to a new environment.
In conclusion, although exchange programs may cause temporary difficulties for some teenagers, these problems can usually be overcome with support and communication. Therefore, I firmly believe that international exchange visits provide far more benefits, helping students become more experienced and improving their communication and social skills.
