Nowadays, many parents purchase a large amount of toys for their children to play with. This approach has both benefits and drawbacks, which I will explain in this essay.
On the one hand, the main advantage of buying many toys is that it helps the children’s growth and knowledge development. To begin with, there are numerous educational toys that teach numbers, colours, the alphabet, and animal names. Additionally, these toys also allow parents to be involved in the learning process, which is essential for a child’s brain development and personal growth. Besides, children can enjoy a wonderful childhood; for instance, many adults still remember the times they enjoyed playing with their parents.
On the other hand, the disadvantage of purchasing many toys is a waste of money if children refuse to play with them or destroy them. Toddlers often break and throw things, which is part of their development. Furthermore, as kids grow older, they lose interest in childish toys. Having a large collection of toys can also make the house messy, creating a bad impression on visitors and making the home uncomfortable. Therefore, it is better to buy just a few toys at a time. For example, have purchased many costly toys for my kids, but now they are grown up and no longer use them. The toys are now taking up space in my home.
In conclusion, buying several toys supports children’s learning and gives them wonderful memories. However, the downsides include wasting money and creating messy environments. It is better to give our kids toys and perhaps donate them afterwards instead of preventing them from enjoying these small joys.
