As technology has developed rapidly, it has become an essential part of people’s daily lives. While some individuals believe that modern technology has brought people closer together, others argue that it has weakened human relationships. This essay will discuss both views and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, technology has made communication faster and more convenient. In the past, people relied on letters to stay in touch with their loved ones who lived far away, which could take several weeks to arrive. Nowadays, people can communicate instantly through video calls and messaging applications by simply tapping a few buttons. Furthermore, many companies prefer contacting candidates via email instead of arranging face-to-face meetings, as this saves time and resources. As a result, technology provides people with more opportunities to stay connected in an easier way.
On the other hand, some argue that face-to-face interactions are gradually disappearing. Many people prefer making phone calls or sending messages rather than spending quality time together in person. As everything becomes digital, real emotions and reactions may be lost. Consequently, relationships can weaken over time, and people may feel emotionally distant due to the lack of direct human contact.
In my opinion, although technology introduces certain challenges, its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. When used responsibly, technology helps people stay connected and improves their quality of life. Therefore, it is not technology itself that harms relationships, but the way people choose to use it.
