Different peoples may have different openions , scientific research plays a crucial role in progress of society while some insist government invest only in areas related to recent developement only ,i dont think so that not having a long term goal is not good for future scientific research and developement . I think baalence in funding is necessary for both kinds of development , to begin begin, with research that provides immediate practical applications can significantly improves people live in the short term .For example studies related to medicine , agriculture and reneual energy can lead to breakthrough treatment increase food production and solution to climate change . since governments have responsibility to social walfare , it is reasonable that they prioritise the developement of technologies and discoveries that solve urgent problems.
However, limiting investement only to research with instant results may restict long term scientific progress. Many major inventions that transformed modern world such as electricity, enternet origionally are result of long term scientific investment .
In my openion balance between both kinds of investment is important , allocating a significant portion of funds to practical research ensures that pressing issue are addressed ,while still supporting fundamental science gurentees continious growth and discovery.
