Band 7+: Some people believe that automation and artificial intelligence will create more jobs than they replace, while others think they will lead to mass unemployment. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The question of whether automation and artificial intelligence will create more jobs than they replace or lead to mass unemployment has long been a subject of intense debate in many parts of the world, especially in modern societies. In this essay, I am going to discuss both perspectives and express my own opinion on this important issue.

On the one hand, those who support the idea that AI and automation will create more jobs argue that their primary advantage is that they lead to new industries and opportunities. This is because new technologies always create new types of jobs that did not exist before. For example, the internet created social media managers and app developers that no one imagined in the past. Consequently, this approach results in significant positive outcomes for society as a whole.

On the other hand, proponents of the view that AI will cause mass unemployment argue that it is crucial to address the problem of machines replacing human workers. Moreover, focusing on this aspect is essential for long-term stability and progress. Evidence from the real world shows that focusing on this idea can bring great benefits, such as keeping the unemployment level under control, maintaining economic stability, and reducing social and economic dissatisfaction. Ignoring these factors could lead to serious and irreversible problems, such as growing inequality between rich and poor and protest actions, all of which can negatively impact society in the long term.

In conclusion, I believe that while new job creation is undeniably important, the risk of mass unemployment must also be given serious consideration. A balanced approach that integrates both perspectives is pivotal for sustainable development and future success.
