Undoubtedly, whilst some pupils believe that public figures have a beneficial impact on the population, opponents believe the complete opposite.Despite the fact that there are a few advantages of such a topic, I am a staunch believer that famous people negatively influence others, especially adolescents.
On one hand, celebrities have a righteous effect on youngsters because of their social media accounts that are followed by millions of people. To further explain, celebrities, nowadays, mainly post stories raising awareness, supporting ongoing campaigns and impactful quotes. The fact that they have a numerous number of followers, many of these being youngsters, has a gargantuan beneficial effect on the society. A prominent example is the eminent Egyptian figure, Mohamed Salah, whose positive traits are being acquired through his social media by other people worldwide.
Whereas, on the other side of the spectrum, opponents mention that most celebrities have negative effects, and that they don’t contribute to helping us live in a harmonious world. Not only are haters of the belief that famous people normalise illegal aspects like gun violence and alcohol, but it is also of the utmost drawback that they regularise the use of drugs. For instance, many public figures were viewed as intoxicated, and various mugshots have been posted of them for illegal actions. This example connotes that they are not successful, known and impactful figures that youngsters are supposed to look up to, in fact they are unprecedentedly the complete opposite.
In conclusion, after this essay has manifested the above points, it can be witnessed that there are pros and cons for the effect of celebrities; however, I strongly advocate that the drawbacks outweigh the advantages because famous figures negatively influence adolescents due to their illegal and normalised actions.
