A certain number of individuals are of opinion that excessive amount of time are allocated to children to play, while some others argue against it and they believe that the extra time should be spent on school assignments. In my opinion, I feel that young ones should be allowed free time to play, and also study, as this will help them have a balance both socially and academically.
Young ones should not be deprived of free time because this helps them to relax from stress of school and home chores. Most times, children spend quality hours during school sessions, ranging from having classes from morning to afternoon, going for extracurricular activities like football practices and baking classes and they end up being exhausted. Some of their parents are too busy to spend time with them and enroll them in private classes and at the end of the school season they are mentally choked up. Therefore, allowing children to sometimes have excessive amount of time to play and watch TV programs will help with their development. Spending time on such extra curricular activities helps their brain function better as it enhances creativity and good coordination ability.
Furthermore, I also fell that some of these extra time should be alloyed to study because this will help the child keep track in school work and encourage great academic performances. Parents and guidance should assist their offsprings by creating timetable which will help them to schedule their activities. For example, a child who is on holiday from school should be given time to play, visit friends and family and also have extra time to study a little during this period.
In conclusion, I believe that children should be allowed to use their free time to get involved with other activities that will enhance them both in their social and school life. Parents should therefore help them find a balance in both aspects.
