In this technology-focused world, the use of mobile phones has been increasing; some see them as harmful, while others consider them useful. This essay explores both sides and gives my opinion.
On the one hand, mobile phones can bring many benefits if used responsibly. They help to ensure safety, as parents can easily contact their children in emergencies. They also provide educational tools, such as online dictionaries, e-books, and learning apps, which support academic growth. Furthermore, developing digital literacy from a young age trains children for the modern world. Mobile phones help them to stay connected with friends and family, and learning to use them responsibly builds their confidence and independence.
On the other hand, mobile phones can negatively affect children in several ways. Firstly, constant screen time may cause health problems such as poor eyesight and disturbed sleep. Secondly, children may become addicted to games and social media, from which they can learn unnecessary things, which can distract them from studies and reduce concentration. Moreover, early use of online platforms might put them under stress and anxiety, which can harm their mental health as well. Lastly, relying too much on mobile phones may weaken their social and communication skills; it can make them dependent on technology rather than human interaction.
In conclusion, children should be given mobile phones, but under proper supervision and time limits. I believe that in this way, they can enjoy the advantages of technology while being protected from its harmful effects.
