Playing sports with friends, basically for fun or to improve their health, is a good way to relax and be entertained instead of playing games or staying at home. However, playing sports competitively is another matter. It not only shows their effort through practice and determination but also can be seen as representing their country or their organization towards the highest achievement in the competition, and in school, for students, this is an exception. In this essay, I will show my partly disagreed opinion on this issue.
Sports were born in previous decades; they originally helped people feel more entertained by the simple techniques in gameplay. For example, badminton in the past was invented and played by using simple movement without having rules set; or just simple in football sport, people who played this game just kicked and kicked without purpose. However, as time went on, the rules and techniques to play these games were set and changed in order to make them more perfect; and from there, the competitions in sports were born. The competition is a place where people who have a passion for a particular field of sports compete with the best players around the world or in your range. In the competition, there are many categories such as individual, team, etc. Nowadays, there are lots of big or middle competitions organized around the world including the Olympics, World Cup, or NBA, and apart from school.
Although the benefits it brings for students are very respectable like expressing passion or helping attached to friends, it has existing problems like cheating, and taking advantage of competition to resolve personal matters – as students still have interpersonal conflicts – by making intentional accidents. These problems can be often seen in massive competitions. As a result, they can get injured and do not have an opportunity to keep playing or being active.
In conclusion, I partly disagree with the statement about eliminating competitive sports from the school curriculum. Even though many sportsmen do not like to study hard and spend as much time on it as playing sports, everything depends on discipline and the right approach.
