The natives who committed violent crimes must be treated with death penalty is the believe of many people while others say this big punishment should be completely disregarded in contemporary society. This essay will discuss the merits and demerits of the given statement along with my personal opinion.
One major advantage is the terror in other people to do something wrong. To explain this, whenever any criminal is given such punishment it discourage the other criminal minds to do any unsocial activity. This is very good for maintaining a healthy environment in the society. Another benefit is, the breath taking punishment may help some gangsters to become good personalities. To be more clear, death penalty is very scary and it is sure that someone will not ever want to quit their life just for doing bad of others so this will help the criminals to think deep before they commit any crime because they will be balancing their life on one hand and their habit of doing bad on the other hand.
However, there are some drawbacks also such as, this life ending threat make many families to suffer. To elaborate, it is good to make someone face their bad deeds but everyone have family, once the person is gone after them their family is always left behind to suffer with many troubles and traumas. To add on, the family members feel left out by society because of one criminal their family is also doubted by the other people and they do not like their company so such families spend their life in wretched conditions. Specially the children suffer lack of emotional support and during their childhood they come to know about the dark side of life which encourage them for the revenge.
In my opinion, it is not necessary that every criminal must be treated by death penalty only, in some cases the bad act they did is not that big for which they have to give up their life. So it must completely depend upon situation and the decisions must be made by government with very deep thinking before ending anyone’s life.
