Homeschooling has become common in some parts of the country in recent years, which parents are choosing it. While this decision allows parents to control their children’s studies, I believe these advantages are outweighed by the disadvantages, which potentially lead to poor communication and logical thinking skills.
One major benefit of homeschooling is that parents are able to focus on students’ interests and strengths, which is an important thing in education. At traditional schools students often learn different boring subjects, which they do not have any academic interests in. As a result, by homeschooling, parents can develop youngsters’ specific talents, which facilitates their continuing and achieving their goals in their education.
Despite this, homeschooling brings some benefits, but traditional schools can teach more important things, which are essential in children’s lives. Students often communicate with other people or face various challanges at schools. For example, some students frequently communicate with their classmates at their schools, because regular interaction with people improves interpersonal abilities, whereas homeschooling cannot ensure these conditions.
Another significant drawback is that youngsters’ problem-solving abilities can be lost. This is because children at home often handle everything with ease because of a lack of difficulties like schools. Traditional schools usually bring some challenges, which students should address. For instance, in traditional schools children can face treatments, such as co-operation projects, time management and other responsibilities play a crucial role in children’s problem-solving skills.
In conclusion, while homeschooling makes a contribution to the students’ education, I believe that its disadvantages – like communication skills improvement and lack of critical thinking abilities – outweigh its advantages.
