According to some, artificial intelligence robots will in the near future substitute humans in the workforce. Although it is possible for robots to perform simple daily work tasks, I firmly believe that professions that require human contact can’t be filled in by artificial intelligence. In my view,
only scanty jobs will be occupied by humans.
Human positions that do not demand emotional intelligence may one day be replaced by machines. With the ever-fast-moving economy, compared to hiring and employing a human, companies look for consistency that robots offer by performing more efficiently and error-free. An outstanding example of this is the remarkable improvement in supermarkets’ work flow due to the installation of automated stations that are not only cost-efficient, but also can work 24/7. Ergo, it is safe to assume that in the future, machines will take over some of human labor.
Controversially, there are some works that cannot be easily replaced by artificial intelligence programs. Categories of professions that include creativity and artistry can hardly be replaced by machines. For instance, careers such as painter, writer or musician require a sense of artistry and emotional perception that engineers can’t program robots to have. Robots will never be able to process any kind of human emotion needed to achieve a sense of individuality, self-expression and uniqueness.
In conclusion, more human workforce will be substituted by robots and machines. Artificial intelligence will fill in for jobs that require physical and manual labor. Yet, upon examining their restrictions, I am convinced that jobs that need a specific form of skills and expertise are here to stay.
