To provide an overview of the topic, in the modern era, some people believe that history has no value, while others argue that we should be aware of history to learn from the past. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss both viewpoints and share my opinion, supported by relevant examples from my own knowledge and experience.
Firstly, some people believe that history is not important because they perceive it as a waste of time. They think the current period they are living in holds more significance. The current generation is often unaware of the healthy lifestyles that people embraced in the past. Many individuals prioritize working day and night and living a joyful life, which results in a lack of interest in history.
On the other hand, there are those who believe that understanding history is essential for learning from past experiences. These individuals recognize the lifestyles of people from earlier times. They want to learn about history because the lessons from those who lived before us are valuable and relevant in today’s world.
For instance, China initiated a bio-war against India, unleashing a peculiar disease that was nearly incurable with current medicines. However, a girl from Tamil Nadu discovered a remedy in an ancient book written by Bodhidharma in the early 1000s. This medicine helped many people recover from that deadly disease.
In conclusion, the people of the past have left us with many lessons that the current generation may not fully appreciate. In my opinion, it is crucial to learn about our history and the ethics and techniques we can still apply in our daily lives. Unfortunately, we have already lost many historical artifacts and knowledge, but we must ensure that we utilize what remains and preserve it for future generations.
