There is no doubt that these days many crimes would happen in a different way, so many people think to reduce these crimes, prisoners should stay in prison for a long time to take their punishment. While others believe there are many alternative ways. In this essay, a discussion of both opinions will be made, and finally, my opinion will be written.
The first opinion deals with remaining in prison for a long term to receive punishment. For example, the government must take strong, severe penalties to limit crimes such as drug dealing and child abuse. Although, this action is not always the right choice. For example, even though the USA has strong laws, it still records a high crime rate.
On the other hand, the second view is that there are many alternative ways to deal with killers and murderers. For example, many countries conduct workshops discussing the dangers and disadvantages of crime.
In conclusion, after a careful analysis of both views, many countries are still researching better approaches to lower the crime rate. In my opinion, inmates need to change their lives. So, as people living on the same planet, we have to help them become members of society.
