It is widely believed by many people that simple everyday actions, like recycling plastic bottles and reducing household waste, are the best way to protect our environment. While some individuals support this view, I firmly believe that only big government policies and strict national laws can truly solve these severe environmental problems globally.
On the one hand, many people argue that individual actions are very important because small lifestyle changes by everyone can reduce the huge amount of trash in cities every day. For example, a recent study showed that communities with good recycling habits successfully cut their local waste by almost thirty percent over five years. However, I strongly counter that big government action is far more beneficial and necessary to save the planet. This is because massive environmental threats, such as big factories dumping bad chemical waste or cutting down trees, cannot be stopped by ordinary people without strict laws. To illustrate, recent data indicates that putting high taxes on dirty factories in Europe forced these businesses to change to clean solar energy very quickly. Therefore, the advantages of having strong national rules clearly outweigh the benefits of relying only on the choices of individual citizens.
In conclusion, although personal habits like recycling and using less plastic have some small benefits, big government rules are still a much better option to fight climate change. Ultimately, it is highly recommended to prioritize these big laws right now to save the environment and ensure safety for future generations.
