With the use of the Internet and mobile phones, people’s opinions are divided on whether this brings easier communication or influences negatively in relationships. I think the internet is giving more disadvantages than advantages because our generation is facing severe mental conditions as a result and some of them are becoming addicted to mobile phones.
Firstly, the current people who are dominating the world are generation Z, and we are also known as the first generation with smart mobile devices. As we grew up using social platforms and watching strangers’ videos, a common complicated problem emerged in all of us – depression. Most of us started to compare ourselves and wished they had a better life like the famous influencers who pop up on their phones frequently. As a result, they develop some mental disorders which affect the way they communicate with their family and friends.
Secondly, because smartphones are a whole new invention to everybody, some became too obsessed with using them. Nowadays, most teenagers and children spend surprisingly more time on their phones than in real life. They endlessly scroll through the internet and get addicted to the temporary dopamine which makes them stick with the phone forever. Therefore, whenever they are faced with a real environment, they instantly miss the fake dopamine, leading to showing misbehaved attitudes towards their surroundings and slowly ruining the relationship between people.
However, we cannot deny the fact that with the widespread use of mobile devices, our way of interacting has developed and has come to an advanced level. Before them, we only got to know each other through real life and never had a chance to talk with our closest ones from other parts of the world. Thanks to this invention, we are now able to communicate with everyone from anywhere, as well as collecting numerous pieces of information about the world around us.
To conclude, even though the Internet and mobile phones have brought huge opportunities for people to connect to the world, they also have influenced us terribly, by increasing mental instability among people and creating a new form of bad habit. From this, we should know that keeping the balance is crucial for benefiting from it.
