I truly agree that private companies are a better candidate in such significant research, as they can provide freedom during their study without any interruption and prohibition as the government.
On the one hand, it is common that the government can ban some new developing and fresh ideas from scientific studies. It is evident that by working with the government there will be a dependence on their financial support, which can take time to have a permission on. It can even affect the process as an interruption and unmotivated mood. All these factors influence the success of the result of research. For example, the national scientific research of the Aral sea had to shut down because they did not receive the support from the government.
On the other hand,it is true that scientific professional studies should not be conducted by the government, when there are more opportunities in individual companies. Science should be provided a free space and open-minded environment, which is possible in private firms. By allowing them freedom of choice, companies can be sure that in the end of the research there will be excellent results or even new discoveries in history. For example, the project Space X by the private company of Elon Musk made travel to space nowadays more successful than many government programs.
