Test preparations are important and unavoidable occurrences in every student’s life. Interestingly, there is an ongoing debate on how to manage one’s study to maximize the outcome. Many support the method of studying in a group, while some prefer to study by themselves.
Practicing for assessments with classmates is beneficial for all parties, as the lack of comprehension of one person can be remedied by another person. This offers advantages for both as the enquiring student learns something new and the responder has an opportunity to review the content. Additionally, studying together is more engaging and boosts motivation because each individual can support one another both academically and emotionally.
In contrast, revising alone could be a more efficient practice for some students. This approach allows them to study in peace. Within a group, some students discuss irrelevant topics or misbehave, disregarding the importance of academics. Moreover, each pupil studies at their own desired pace. Therefore, working in a team could be considered inefficient.
Ultimately, studying alone is more favorable as the students can manage and prioritize their studies according to their preferences. This decision would also minimize unnecessary distractions when focusing.
