Band 5+: Some people believe that university education should be free, while others argue that students should pay for their own education. Discuss both views and state your own opinion.

There has always been a debate over the cost of higher education in the globe. Some argue that it should be free of cost and others are in favor of it. I would like to explain both the views and give my suggestions about it.

To start with, free education in universities can be beneficial in many ways. Like, students would not have to pay substantial amounts for their education. Additionally, in developing countries, where the primary needs of living are costly, people can get relief from such steps. So, it would help the learners to keep studying without worrying about expenses if government takes action for free education in universities.

On the contrary, paying fee for higher education seems necessary when we talk about private institutes. It becomes deemed essential for such institutes to get fee from students as they need to manage the salaries of tutors and the other expenses related to the education. Moreover, co curricular activities also consumes a huge amount in the universities.

Having said that, I believe the higher education couldn’t entirely be free rather a reasonable amount should be collected as the private institutes couldn’t afford it. Also, scholarships for the competent individuals could make this situation better. At government level, steps must be taken to provide free higher education.

In conclusion, some believe the higher education should be completely free while others are against this argument. I think education should not be costly enough to make it difficult for lower class.
