Band 7+: some people choose to eat no meat or fish. they believe that this is not only better for their own health but also but also benefits the world as a whole .

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people choose to abstain from consuming meat or fish, believing it benefits both themselves and the world. However, I believe this trend, while well-intentioned, is fundamentally flawed and raises several concerns.

First, meat and fish are excellent sources of a wide range of essential nutrients. Meat is known to provide natural fibers, protein, and collagen, while fish offers vital vitamins, particularly omega-3 fatty acids. Our ancestors survived by fishing and hunting, obtaining the necessary minerals and fibers from these foods, which allowed them to thrive.

Secondly, hunting and fishing practices over the centuries have helped maintain the balance of various species in nature. Although the world has changed, and many animals are now raised on farms for the food industry, issues such as extinction, endangerment, and the destruction of natural habitats persist. If reducing the consumption of animal products were a simple solution to these problems, it would have been recognized and addressed long ago.

In conclusion, by refraining from eating fish or meat, individuals do not influence how these foods are produced. As a result, their well-meaning decisions may have less impact than intended and could potentially jeopardize their health by depriving them of crucial natural nutrients.
