It is said that reducing traffic accidents on the road can be achieved by developing new rules regarding speed limitation. While some people believe it is not the only solution to this matter, both ideas hold some merit, and I support the former opinion.
On the one hand, the number of vehicles is increasing, and the demand for strict rules is needed as car crashes are rising. One of the rules that can ensure people’s safety is speed limitation. Vehicles with high speeds may have some issues with braking in winter or spring, as rain or snow can cause malfunctions in the braking process. For example, in Japan, individuals began to slow down on special roads to avoid accidents in the area, and as a result, car crashes decreased threefold in a month. For this reason, it should be taken seriously by people throughout the world, as it helps not only decrease accidents but also save lives.
On the other hand, authorities should make stricter rules, such as fines and license confiscation, for those who drive illegally to achieve their goals. If people begin to think about not breaking the rules, the number of auto accidents can be lowered. As an example, radars and a variety of video registers were installed in Uzbekistan in order to decrease the number of traffic accidents on the road, and weeks later, strict punishments helped reduce traffic crashes. Finally, this not only increases drivers’ attention on the road but also helps economically.
In conclusion, limiting the speed of vehicles can save millions of lives, and having strict rules can increase drivers’ attention; both are useful to people.
