In recent years, advertising has become widespread across numerous digital platforms such as YouTube and Facebook. While some individuals believe that advertising strongly influences our purchasing decisions, others argue that it has become so frequent and repetitive that many people no longer pay attention to it. This essay will examine both viewpoints and support the idea that advertising remains highly persuasive due to its strategic and appealing methods.

On the one hand, some people are no longer affected by advertisements, mainly because they view them as interruptions. For instance, advertisements that appear during online videos are often skipped or ignored, as viewers find them disruptive. In many cases, individuals use this time to check their phones or engage in other brief activities, which reduces the impact of the advertisements. Furthermore, constant exposure to similar promotional content may lead to advertising fatigue, making consumers less responsive.

On the other hand, many advertising campaigns continue to be effective, especially when they involve influential figures such as celebrities. People tend to trust endorsements from well-known individuals, assuming that they only promote high-quality products. This form of advertising can be particularly persuasive, as it creates a sense of credibility and aspiration. Therefore, when a famous actor or athlete supports a product, it can significantly increase its appeal to the general public.

From my personal experience, I find that advertisements often influence my choices, especially when my favourite actor is featured. His confident and captivating presentation style makes the product seem desirable and trustworthy, which encourages me to consider purchasing it.

In conclusion, although some people may become desensitized to advertisements due to their overexposure, I believe that well-designed advertising, especially those involving trusted public figures, continues to have a powerful effect on consumer behaviour. As such, advertising still plays a crucial role in shaping our buying decisions.
