It is irrefutable that industrial revolution is crucial to alleviate poverty, although some people disagree and argue that it should be halted. In this discussion, I will present both sides and offer my opinion in favor of the first viewpoint.

Industrial growth is vital for combating poverty in any country. Our world has rapidly expanded since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Without industries, our world would be unrecognizable. When industries are established in an area, numerous job opportunities are created, enabling people to work and meet their basic needs. A clear example can be seen in China. A few decades ago, it was a poor nation, but now it stands as the world’s second-largest economy and is on track to surpass the USA in the near future.

However, industrial growth alone is not the sole solution to poverty, as some may believe. This perspective holds true to a certain extent. For instance, the Maldives has no industries and primarily relies on its tourism sector. Similarly, many countries rely on tourism and agriculture, yet they do not face high levels of poverty. Furthermore, industrial activity generates harmful waste that threatens our environment, putting us at risk of an unsafe industrial revolution.

In my view, I support the argument that the industrial revolution is essential in addressing poverty. In today’s advancing world, industries are a cornerstone of economic development. The prosperous developed countries we see today owe their economic stability to their industrial growth. Without their industrial revolutions, they would not have achieved the financial stability they enjoy today. Therefore, to change our circumstances, we must increase industrial activity as much as possible while prioritizing safety measures. For governments, industries are a significant source of revenue.

In conclusion, our economy heavily relies on industry, making it a key driver of our development and progress.
