It is argued that people believe that governments should give health care priority, while others believe that there are more important priorities for spending taxpayers’ money. Although I acknowledge governments should give health care priority, I believe that governments spending taxpayers’ money on infrastructure, national defense, and health care are the most important priorities.
On the one hand, one of the primary roles of the government is to ensure that all citizens have access to healthcare services. If the government cannot provide enough health care, many problems will appear in society. For example, some citizens are ill, and the medicines are so expensive that they do not have enough money to pay the cost. If they pay the high cost, those families may not be able to maintain a basic standard of living and become homeless . The increase in the percentage of homeless people may have a bad effect on social order and security.
On the other hand, infrastructure and national defense are equally important for governments to spend taxpayers’ money on. Governments should provide infrastructure to ensure the normal operation and development of society. Governments invest in roads, bridges, and public transportation systems to promote economic development and facilitate convenient travel for people. Responsibility for national defense is important too. It ensures that the country’s security and sovereignty are not threatened and the safety of citizens’ lives and property is protected.
In conclusion, governments spending taxpayers’ money on infrastructure, national defense, and health care are the most important priorities. The factors that affect ensuring the normal operation and development of society are complex.
