Some people believe that traveling abroad is crucial to learn about other countries, while others think it is not necessary because we can get information from TV and the internet. In my opinion, both views have some truth, but traveling gives more real experiance.
On one hand, it is true that nowadays we can learn many things without leaving our home. There are a lot of documentaries, videos and articles online which show culture, history and daily life of different countries. For example, people can watch travel blogs or read about traditions and food. This is also cheaper and more convinient, because not everyone have enough money or time to travel. So, for many people, media is the only way to explore the world.
On the other hand, traveling abroad gives a deeper understanding that you cant get from a screen. When you visit another country, you can see real life with your own eyes, talk to local people and feel the atmosphere. It also helps to improve language skills and comunication. Sometimes what we see on internet is not always true or complete, but personal experiance is more reliable. For instance, trying local food or joining festivals makes learning more interesting and memoriable.
In conclusion, even though TV and internet provide a lot of information, I believe traveling abroad is more effective way to learn about other countries. It gives real feelings and knowladge which is hard to get otherwise.
