Some individuals suggest that it has increasingly becoming prevalent for people to prefer watching performances, such as shows or concerts through the Internet or televised devices rather than engaging in person. Although both schools of thought hold merit, I am personally more aligned with the latter view.
On the one hand, watching performances in person would bring about substantial benefits. First and foremost, attending a live event would provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience with captivating atmosphere, superior quality acoustic, and a level of spontaneity that cannot be replicated through a screen. The sensory richess of a live show from the booming sound systems to the vibrant lightings creates immersive experience, fostering emotional engagement. Additionally, that cheering crowd may strengthen a sense of communual spirit and audience enthusiasm, especially in matches or concerts. For example, being in a stadium during the championish final often triggers an emotional high that TV or computer cannot convey. Nevertheless, this may increase the hassles of travel, traffic congestion, and even criminal activities such as pickpocketing or hasrassment.
On the other hand, I assume that witnessing performances through the Internet would become a safer option for some individuals. Nowadays, thanks to modern broadcasting, many viewers are allowed to experience high-definition visuals, on demand contents, and expert commentaries, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of their own homes. Given that, televised viewing has become a cost-effective and accessible option for users, especially for older adults or those with mobility issues. Furthermore, it eliminates the hassles of travel, crowd congestion, or even criminal activities. For instance, during major football tournaments like UEFA Champions League, many fans prefer to watch matches from home to avoid rowdy fan behaviours and unexpected incidents, while still enjoying clear visuals and immersive coverage.
In conclusion, although attending performances in person would offer real experiences, it cannnot avoid unexpected incidents. Instead, I believe that watching them at home not only provides clear visuals but also ensures viewers’ safety and convinience.
