Band 6: Some people say to prevent illness and disease, governments should focus more on reducing environmental pollution and housing problems. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Recently, it has been argued that governments should pay more attention to preventing illness and disease by dealing with problems, such as environmental pollution and housing problems. Personally, i totally agree with that suggestion due to some reasons that are elucidated in this essay.

On the one hand, environmental pollution is the main factors leading to various health issues. Indeed, living in an environment that is polluted can cause illness and diseases related to the respiratory and digestive systems. In big cities, including Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh, emissions strongly increase due to the development and extension of industrial parks. As a result, it lead to the high levels of air pollution that contributed to a significant increase in respiratory illness in recent years. Moreover, people living near the water sources polluted by industrial waste are facing so many problems related to digestive systems. Nowadays, there are a huge number of rivers and lakes contains various types of waste, especially industrial waste and plastic waste. Thus, it threats directly to the water sources that communities are using.

On the other hand, housing problems are also a factor that can lead to a variety of health issues. Particularly, there are so many people still have to live in a old house with low living condition that is a perfect developing condition for virus. Besides, high property prices and economic instability force people with lower incomes to live in cramped spaces that negatively affect their health.

In conclusion, environmental pollution and housing issues are linked to health problems, i believe that gervernments shoud implement more policies that support the lower incomes people and strictly punish pulluting behavior to address these problems.
