Nowadays, many people argue about whether people with university degrees are more important to society than people who learn skills through real work. To understand this clearly, “educated people” are those who finish university, while “experienced workers” are people who do actual jobs for many years. In my opinion, I disagree that university students are the most important group. I believe both sides have their own benefits.
On the one hand, highly educated people are very necessary. They spend a long time studying books to become doctors, scientists, or engineers. These professionals can solve difficult problems and build new technologies that a normal worker cannot do. For example, a hospital always needs good doctors with degrees to treat sick people and save lives. Therefore, university education is very important for the country.
On the other hand, learning practical skills from real-world experience is also essential for modern life. Experienced workers learn hands-on skills that help our life run smoothly every day. The first major skill is fixing things. A car mechanic or an electrician with ten years of work experience can fix a broken machine much faster than a new university student because they did it many times before. Another useful skill is communication. People who work in shops or restaurants learn how to talk politely to customers and work well in a team.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that both educated people and experienced workers bring great benefits to society. We need university knowledge for professional jobs, but we also need practical skills because they are just as important to keep our world running well.
