There are some reasons for having a dress code in the workplace. While some say that a strict dress code should not be necessary, lh personally consider that it is beneficial for both men and women in the workplace.
One of the biggest advantages of a strict dress code is that it helps maintain employees’ personal image, clients, customers and people can easily recognize a person of every profession. Uniforms are also useful in some jobs, like in hospitals or restaurants, to show professionalism and maintain hygiene and uniform. For example, chefs must wear a uniform because of cleanliness in restaurants or cafes. Similarly, police officers are known everywhere because of their uniform and when car drivers see the police, they tend to drive more carefully which can increase road safety. On the other hand, casual or other types of dresses are more comfortable and employers can move flexibility. However, it can sometimes cause confusion in professional settings.
Another advantage is that dress code can create discipline and decrease conflicts between workers about clothing styles and financial status. If everyone follows the same clothes and standard, work will be more quality between employees. This is the reason why workers differ from their clothes and they have the same level. In addition, uniforms can also prevent competition based on clothes and employees can easily adapt to their jobs.
In conclusion, although casual clothes are more convenient, I completely agree that a dress code can create discipline, equality, cleanliness, and safety in the workplaces for all workers.
