Many people claim that doing regular exercise is the most important factor in maintaining good health, while some people believe that taking healthy meal is more essential. It seems to me that the combination of the two is best for overall health.
On the one hand, exercise is very essential for physical and mental health as it keeps the body fit and energetic. Firstly, it keeps the body healthy and improves the function of heart and muscles. Engaging in exercises like jogging, walking, skipping, swimming and cycling can enhance blood circulation and metabolic rate, thereby helping to maintain blood pressure and sugar levels. Secondly, it triggers secretion of endorphin from brain, which reduces stress and improves mood. Therefore, exercise plays a vital role in preventing health problems and maintaining a quality life.
On the other hand, a balanced diet is equally significant as it provides many nutrients for growth and development. Eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fats, and protein-rich foods provide vitamins and minerals need for proper growth. It is essential for promoting health and well-being, for example, lack of “vitamin A” leads to poor eyesight. Moreover, a lack of nutritious food may cause malnutrition, which can result in other forms of illness. In contrast, excessive consumption of junk and processed food can contribute to poor immune system. Thus, a proper nutritious meal is fundamental for leading a healthy lifestyle.
In conclusion, both exercise and balanced diet are beneficial for our mental health and body. I believe that a proper diet and regular physical activity is the most effective approach for long term well-being.
