There exists a prevalent belief that governments should not allocate aid to other countries especially when unemployment and homeless issues are still presenting domestically. I wholeheartedly disagree with the notion and will elucidate my perspective through well-reasoned arguments and pertinent examples in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To commence, unemployment and homelessness are challenges which can only be mitigated, and cannot be made to disappear entirely. In other words, governments cannot financially support every individuals with adversities as the number of people becoming unemployed or homeless proliferates each day, instead, the implications of such problems could only be lessened through creating more jobs opportunities and providing free meals for the homeless through charity campaigns. Furthermore, authorities should consider balancing the allocation of tax-payers’ money towards more imperative things, such as international relationships, healthcare, and infrastructure instead of just focusing on the lower classes as it could potentially cause an outrage among the middle and high classes.
Moreover, while addressing the situation of homelessness and unemployment is essential, retaining the international relationships is much more vital to a country’s strategic political interests and economy. Through sending aid to other nations, they get the chance to develop profound alliances that could benefit their own country in the long term, both in military through strategic geographical locations, and in economy through trading routes. Consequently, citizens of that country also share benefits from a more stable state. Nevertheless, it is crucial to acknowledge that while remaining relationships internationally is important, homelessness and unemployment also necessitate to be tackled by the governments.
In conclusion, while homelessness and unemployment are crucial problems to be addressed, the governments cannot allocate all of the budget into fixing them due to the fact they couldn’t be erased entirely, and the need for providing international aid in pursuit of long-term benefits for the country should not be ignored by authorities.
