Some people say that there is too much sugar in our foods and drinks, and a way of solving that is raising the costs of sweet products. I disagree, in my opinion, raising the prices will not help solve the problem, instead, different solutions to the problem must be implemented.
You see, even if the prices of sugary products are increased, it will not prevent people from buying them, eventually they will adapt to the new prices. It would be better to have a different approach to the problem of sweet products, such as advertisements encouraging people to consume less sugar. For example, teaching kids in schools about the health issues than can occur when eating too much sugar and providing them with healthy alternatives like fruits or juices will motivate them to include less sugar in their diet. By doing that we can prevent tooth cavities and obesity, which are common in children due to overeating sugar.
But children are not the only ones who suffer from sweet products.Heart disease, diabetes and other illnesses are common in all ages, and once again, the main cause for these diseases is sugar. In our lives, sugar has become common not only in candies and chocolate, sugar is in our food and drinks we consume everyday. Fast food, processed foods are all common nowadays, many people eat these every day. So, to solve the problem, people must exclude fast food and processed foods from their diets, apart from that, healthy lifestyle should be promoted to encourage and motivate people.
It is clear that sugary products are a huge problem. To overcome it, many actions must be taken. The most important thing to do is to try and make people eat less sugar on their own, rather than increase the prices of sugary products.
