Even though some believe that people are busier as a result of current technology, others argue it actually gives people more free time. From my perspective, modern technology is an integral part of our lives. Both viewpoints will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, defenders of the idea that technology increases free time believe that information access and regular task automation improve our quality of life. For instance, we may immediately solve problems with online services instead of wasting time travelling or waiting. Technology also helps improve the organisation of the work process, allowing us to optimise time and resources.
On the other hand, opponents of this opinion believe that technology increases the workload of a person. Constant availability and the need to be connected can lead to the fact that work takes longer than before. Plus, excessive use of social networks and digital devices can be distracting and create the illusion of being busy.
In conclusion, some people consider modern technology as helpful since it allows them to complete tasks more quickly, which frees up more time for them. And I share this viewpoint personally. However, other people believe that technology really makes them busier because they are expected to perform more tasks on shorter deadlines than they did previously.
