Nowadays, there are more and more concerns regarding the well-being of young people. This is a reason for questions about professional athletes’ influence on teenagers to be raised. Some people believe that professional sportsmen make a good impression, create motivation, and model the right lifestyle, while others are convinced that their impact does not worth a jigger, emphasizing that each individual has to be motivated only by his thoughts and desires. I am of the opinion that adolescents need to have an example to follow and step after.
On the one hand, teenagers should be independent, freely thinking people who do not need to pattern manners, habits, and behavior after others, whoever they are: famous athletes or the leader of their sport group. Teenagers need to gain each result by hard work, making achievable goals. Looking up to athletes can lead to deplorable consequences such as injuries and low self-esteem. For instance, a person tries his best to be at least a little like professional sportsmen. He or she gives up caring about his or her mental and physical state, completely absorbed by unachievable goals, training all the time.
On the other hand, the majority of sports celebrities know how to train and eat properly. Some of them even have a blog on the net with an eye to encouraging a younger generation to lead a healthy lifestyle. They popularize well-nutrition diets, normal exercises for one’s level of fitness, and motivate adolescents not to give up. It is essential to have such an example in front of you in order to exercise correctly, without injuries and physical overload.
I would like to conclude by saying that physical activity is an integral part of teenager’s lives. Training should be done properly; this is the reason for young people to set up an example to follow and look up to.
