People have contrast views about the influences of paid-education on community. While dependence of educational services to money can have some drawbacks, I believe that existence of non-state high schools can be beneficial to the entire society.
In one hand, growth of independent high schools can bring about several drawbacks. Firstly, such schools are against principle of fair education, which says there should not be any bias toward a certain group of individuals in terms of accessibility to educational facilities, since majority of state schools suffer from lack of equipment (e.g. laboratories, sport fields), expert teachers, etc. Secondly, I believe that educations should not be considered as an industry. However, schools’ owners have contrasting views in this regard and suppose money as their first priority. In this case, getting degrees may become a trade and as a result the literacy rate of the entire society may decrease.
On the other hand, there are multiple benefits to having private schools. Firstly, these schools can create a competitive environment in terms of providing better educational services. Secondly, they can indicate an outstanding school to the public and also can increase individuals’ expectation level in getting standard education. Finally, I believe that non-state schools can decrease financial burden on the governments by releasing expenses of some students whom their families can afford paying for their education. Therefore, the governments can assign that saved budget to provide governmental schools with better equipment. Furthermore, this happening can be remarkably promising when governments decide to invest this extra money on remote regions.
In conclusion, I can understand why some people are against private schools, but it seems to me that it is necessary to have such schools due to their significant positive impacts on society through enhancing the educational system.
