Choosing school for children is alway a carefully considered-issue. It is said that students will greatly grow due to going to private secondary schools, but some argue that secondary schools will negatively affect young generations and society. From my perspective, this is a complicated issue that should be considered from many different points of view.

On one hand, studying at private schools can facilitate comprehensive growth. The most obvious justification is high educational quality and advanced learning facilities. Classrooms and facilities are state of the art and new, entitling learners to approaching modern learning methods and expediting learning spirit. Quality of teaching is focused on with many highly qualified teachers, ensuring meticulous care and guidance. A further factor is developing social skills. Private schools provide various curriculum and often concentrate on extracurricular activities rather than academic subjects. Students will participate in many clubs, scouting activities or music bands. These activities not only aid students in bolstering their habits and desires but also fostering social and leadership skills such as communication, cooperation, creativity and dynamism.

On the other hand, private schools also have some negative impacts on both students and society. One problem is the lack of advanced academic knowledge. Academic subjects, including but not limited to Maths, Science or History, are not emphasized in teaching programmes, may hinder learners’ cognitive abilities and analytical thinking, ultimately leading to uneven development. Another argument is pressure and psychological problems. Private schools often require high learning results and outstanding achievement, which coupled with peer pressure, can unduly create pressure and difficulty in balancing studying and extracurricular activities on students, then culminating in mental and physical ailments such as feeling tired, headache and even depression.

In conclusion, studying in private schools, albeit modern and highly skilled, still has many problems that need to be addressed.
